Mary Marlene Singel (Glenzinski) passed away peacefully on April 2, 2024, in Cincinnati, Ohio where she and her husband, Dan Singel, have presided since July of 2022. Mary was born January 31, 1937, in Arcadia, Wisconsin and graduated from the College of Saint Teresa in Winona, MN with a degree in Social Work. She met her husband, Dan, in Evansville, Indiana while beginning her career as a social worker. They eventually settled in Arlington, Texas and lived there for 54 years prior to moving to Cincinnati. Mary was an active volunteer for 50 plus years serving the local community through leading the Arlington Mended Hearts organization, serving as President of the Altrusa Women’s Society, promoting religious vocations with the Sierra Club of Tarrant County. She was also an active member for years assisting in Theatre Arlington and supported Catholic Charities in numerous ways since her post college days.
Mary had a successful career as a floral designer, floral shop manager, wedding coordinator, and lastly as the event planner for the Texas Rangers baseball team Hall of Fame.
Mary is survived by her devoted and loving husband, E. Daniel Singel of 63 years. Mary is survived by their only child, Jennifer Becker (Singel) Cincinnati, OH and favorite son-in-law, Tim, along with 3 grandsons: Maximillian Daniel Becker and Dr. Megan Rock, Covington, KY, Samuel Xavier Becker, NYC, and Theodore Henry Becker, Columbus, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Cathedral Basilica Saint Peter in Chains in Cincinnati, OH on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 9:30am. Burial will be at St. Maria Goretti Parish, Arlington, TX.
