Ana Maria Mincks, 103 years old, most recently of Alexandria, Kentucky, passed away October 23, 2020. She is survived by her son, Carlos R. Mincks (Cindy). She was preceded in death by her husband Charles R. Mincks of Columbus, Ohio.
Ana was born in Lunahuana, Peru, on April 17, 1917. She excelled in school and became fluent in Spanish, English and French. She became a translator, progressing through several jobs, which eventually led her to Columbus, Ohio, in 1950. There she met her husband Charles and raised their son Carlos. After a long career in business, Ana retired at the age of 70 from the US Federal government. Ana had a life-time love of learning. As long as she was able she always strove to learn more, do more, achieve more. She loved to garden and had a green thumb. She always had the prettiest flowers on the block and a garden full of vegetables.
Ana led an amazing and inspiring life. She will be missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a date to be determined. Memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
