James “Jim” Paul Wesselman, 72, passed away on August 14 at Hospice Care of St. Elizabeth, after a battle with cancer. He was born on May 9, 1950, in Cincinnati to the late Louis J. Wesselman and Grace C. (Manning) Ehrler. Jim attended Stephen T. Badin High School, class of 1969, graduated from Xavier University in 1980 with a BS in Biology. He married Michele “Mickey” (Rowlette) Wesselman on July 7, 1979, in Cincinnati, OH. Jim worked at Shriner’s Hospital for Children for 19 years as a Medical Technologist and supervisor in Microbiology. In Jim’s spare time, he enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies, but he could usually be found working in the yard with an ice-cold Coke; sitting by his firepit with friends; cheering on the Xavier Musketeers. He loved his travels to Ireland where he worked on a horse stud farm. He is survived by his wife Michele, his children Brian Wesselman, Nicholas (Heather Propsom) Wesselman, Christopher Wesselman, Elizabeth Wesselman; grandchildren Sage and Thora Wesselman; siblings Carol (Larry) Elwell, Thomas (Rose) Wesselman, Michael Ehrler, Nancy (Joe) Baston, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim also leaves behind multiple loyal friends. Jim was preceded in death by his brother Phillip “Skip” Wesselman. A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date (TBD).
