Kenneth James Kurke, age 75, passed away on June 12th, 2021 peacefully at home in Union, Kentucky. He was born to the late Gertrude and Raymond Kurke on July 30th, 1945. He was married to Jim Close on September 24th, 2013 in Portland Maine. They have been together for almost 42 years. He loved gardening, cooking, reading about the Civil War, and reading about France. He served in the US Army in the late 60’s and early 70’s. He is survived by his husband, Jim Close, and sister Nancy Kowalski. A celebration of life will be held on July 31st, between 2-5 at his home, 1843 Harmony Hill Drive, Union, Kentucky 41091. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Hospital in Memphis.
